June 30 — The Chinese Foreign Ministry said China and the EU are partners, not
adversaries, and that Sino-EU economic and trade cooperation is fundamentally
mutually beneficial. It said the root cause of the EU’s problems does not lie
with China and that resolving bilateral economic ties requires deepening
cooperation to achieve common development. China said it is willing to
strengthen communication with the EU on the basis of equality, respect and
reciprocity, handle trade disputes constructively, and jointly safeguard global
supply-chain stability.
