China National Space Administration said on June 30, International Asteroid Day,
that it will establish a ground-space coordinated monitoring system for
near-Earth asteroids to provide early warning support for impact defense. CNSA
said China is evaluating an asteroid defense system and plans to combine
multiple ground-based telescopes with a space-based satellite constellation to
achieve continuous day‑night monitoring.
