Preliminary Destatis data on Tuesday showed Germany's June CPI eased to 2.4% YoY
from 2.7% in May, vs analysts' 2.5% forecast. Core CPI excluding food and energy
held at 2.5% YoY, unchanged from May. Euro area June CPI is due Wednesday;
Economists expect 3.0% YoY, down from 3.2%. The ECB raised rates in June — its
first hike in nearly three years — aiming to curb inflation and limit spillovers
from rising energy costs.
