Today (30th), with the final unit at the Shaping I hydropower plant on the Dadu River synchronized to the grid, the Dadu River hydropower base added over 2.0 GW of clean capacity, making it among the first river basins to deliver concentrated, large-scale hydropower commissioning under China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. Prices have also been hit by a rapid USD rally since mid‑May, making dollar‑denominated metals more expensive for most buyers, and by market bets that the Fed will keep rates higher for longer or may tighten further, weighing on demand.
