According to the Wall Street Journal, sources familiar with the matter said that Iran's Revolutionary Guard has informed mediators that it will close the Strait of Hormuz again if it cannot obtain assurances at the Doha talks that it has sole control over the strait. The Revolutionary Guard also demanded that the United States and other countries abandon plans to allow ships to navigate through the southern waters of the strait closer to Oman.
