It is forecast to move WNW at 20–25 km/h, intensify into a numbered typhoon on July 2, and approach Hainan’s eastern coast, potentially reaching strong tropical storm or typhoon strength. Hainan Provincial Meteorological Bureau issued a typhoon Level‑4 warning at 09:30 on July 1; the provincial disaster prevention and relief committee activated a Level‑4 flood and wind emergency response at 10:00 on July 1.
