MOFCOM spokesman He Yadong said at a routine July 2 briefing that agricultural
trade is an important part of China‑U.S. economic cooperation. After recent
consultations both sides set a guiding target to expand two‑way agricultural
trade and have in principle agreed to include relevant farm products in a
reciprocal tariff‑reduction framework. He said firms will trade on market
principles according to demand and market conditions, and China is willing to
work with the U.S. to create favorable conditions for two‑way agricultural
trade.
