At 14:00 on July 2 the center of a South China Sea tropical depression was about
175 km southeast of Wanning, Hainan. It is forecast to move west-northwest at
about 10 km/h, strengthen, and make landfall on Hainan's east coast during the
afternoon to evening of July 3. China's National Marine Forecasting Center has
issued a yellow wave warning and a blue storm-surge warning.
