Samsung Electronics will invest about 60 trillion won in South Korea's Yeongnam
region to build production centers for humanoid robots, solid-state batteries,
AI server packaging substrates and high-value shipbuilding, aiming to create a
global physical-AI innovation cluster. Samsung president and DX division head
Roh Tae-moon said concentrated investment in humanoid robots, AI data centers
and advanced manufacturing would create 200,000 high-quality jobs. The group
issued a press release outlining a group-level investment plan centered on Gumi,
Ulsan, Busan and Geoje after a briefing at Gyeongsang National University in
Jinju.
