Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli told media in Beijing during the World Peace Forum that
Iran plans to levy service fees for Strait of Hormuz transit in line with
international practice. He said transit had been unimpeded prior to the outbreak
of hostilities involving the US, Israel and Iran; Tehran has not announced
tariffs but intends fees to cover navigation safety, pilotage and environmental
protection costs, consistent with other international waterways. Fazli added the
strait's traffic is gradually returning to normal and the Iran‑Oman jointly
managed channel is restoring order.
