South Korea's finance ministry said on Monday it will advance regulatory reforms to speed AI deployment across the services sector to boost competitiveness. Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol discussed specific measures with related ministries and noted services account for about 60% of GDP. "The services sector is undergoing a profound AI-driven transformation, accelerating integration with manufacturing, driving public service innovation and fundamentally changing daily life," he said. The ministry said it will quickly introduce measures to allow AI agents to be tested across the full shopping process, will provide policy support for urban air mobility and autonomous-driving services, and will deploy AI in tax and other administrative services.

Analysts point to inflated IPO pricing and rapid exits by short-term speculative funds; regulators have recently tightened lock-up periods for institutional investors, but macro shocks and a supply-demand imbalance leave small- and mid-cap new listings especially vulnerable. Domestic liquidity is concentrated in large-cap AI and semiconductor-chain names including Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, limiting capital flow to newer issuers. The financial industry is banking on a H2 pipeline of large, high-valuation listings to revive activity; new dual-listing guidelines have also been issued.
