President Gitanas Nausėda on the 6th approved a new cabinet list led by Prime
Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius, the presidential office said. The list retains
some incumbents, including Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys, and reshuffles
several portfolios. The Ruginienė government resigned on June 23 and is serving
as a caretaker; parliament on June 30 approved Sinkevičius as prime minister and
Social Democrats chair. Under Lithuanian law, following formal appointment (the
parliamentary vote), Sinkevičius has 15 days to submit the president‑approved
cabinet list and policy program to parliament; the new government takes office
after parliamentary approval.
