According to a CNN reporter, a U.S. official said Iran fired on three merchant ships in Omani territorial waters near the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday. The official stated that the attack was a “serious violation” of the Iranian memorandum of understanding. This third strike had not been previously reported.
