CNN, citing three people, says U.S. Defense Secretary Hegseth plans his first
visit to Israel since taking office on Wednesday. Sources say it is unclear
whether recent U.S. strikes on Iran would affect the trip. Hegseth is expected
to meet Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz to address Israeli
concerns about a possible U.S. sale of F-35 stealth fighters to Turkey, a
proposal raised by Trump at the NATO summit. Israel remains the only Middle
Eastern operator of F-35s.
