Xi attended the National Science and Technology Awards ceremony, the academies'
meeting and the 11th National Congress of the China Association for Science and
Technology (CAST), and urging deeper integration of technological and industrial
innovation to speed the translation of technology into productive capacity. He
called for application‑oriented tech innovation and for industry to raise
scientific questions; strengthening the national technology‑transfer system;
creating diversified application scenarios and high-level industrial clusters;
and promoting the adoption and iterative upgrade of domestically developed
technologies and products. He also urged improved intellectual property
protection and the establishment of a technology‑finance framework suited to
innovation.
