Forecasts show heavy torrential rain in Beijing and Tianjin on July 9–10,
with localized short‑duration intense downpours and elevated risk of mountain
floods, geological hazards, small‑ and medium‑river flooding and urban
waterlogging. Under the national flood-control emergency plan, the National
Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters launched a level‑4 flood-control
emergency response for Beijing and Tianjin effective 21:00 on July 9.
