China Weather Network reported that at 20:00 tonight Typhoon Bavi weakened to a
strong typhoon, with maximum winds near the center of 15 on the Chinese scale
(48 m/s). Prior to this Bavi had sustained super-typhoon intensity for 138
consecutive hours. Bavi is expected to intensify again during tomorrow daytime
and may return to super-typhoon strength; it remains a system requiring high
vigilance.
