A small refinery in Pol-e Dokhtar, Lorestan province in western Iran caught fire at about 17:00 local time, producing heavy smoke. Large quantities of flammable materials on site made the blaze intense and impeded firefighting; rescue teams were unable to approach the core area in the first hours. Firefighters and emergency crews remain on scene and firefighting operations are ongoing.
