Democratic U.S. Representative Ro Khanna told Refinitiv on July 9 he was
intercepted and held for about an hour by Israeli settlers while visiting a
Palestinian village in the West Bank. He said the settlers, armed with U.S.-made
M4 rifles, blocked the road and mocked his party, and that he saw arrogance in
the settlers and Israeli soldiers he attributed to unchecked power and a culture
of impunity that breeds oppression.
