SK Hynix CEO Kwak Noh-jung said late Friday US time (July 10) he expects 2027 to be the tightest year in memory supply and that HBM prices could double by 2027. He said customers are seeking long-term supply contracts as demand rises while SK Hynix faces capacity limits; despite expansion plans, customer demand may still exceed the company’s supply even after 2030. A domestic investor familiar with Korean memory firms said overseas memory executives are watching Chinese capacity expansion closely, and ChangXin Memory (CXMT) and Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC) could be the biggest long-term variable for the market.
