On July 12, under the national emergency plan for natural disaster relief, the
National Disaster Reduction and Relief Committee launched a national
fourth-level disaster emergency response for Zhejiang after this year’s ninth
typhoon, Bavi, caused serious damage. The committee dispatched a disaster relief
workgroup to the affected areas to guide and assist local authorities with
evacuation, resettlement and basic livelihood support.
