An Iranian military spokesman said on July 12 the US should comply with terms of a memorandum of understanding, accusing US efforts to open "illegal shipping lanes" in the Strait of Hormuz of worsening regional insecurity. He said Iranian armed forces will defend Iran's interests in the Strait and that their target list is being continually updated.
