China's Ministry of Water Resources upgraded its flood warning to yellow at
13:01 on July 12, citing the northward advance of Typhoon Bavi. Forecasts for
July 12-14 call for heavy to very heavy rain across eastern and central
Jiangnan, most of Jianghuai, eastern/southern Huanghuai, parts of North China
and the Northeast. Widespread accumulations are expected at 40-90 mm; parts of
central/southern Anhui, northeastern Jiangxi, eastern Zhejiang, eastern/central
Liaoning and eastern Jilin are forecast 100-180 mm, with isolated totals
potentially exceeding 260 mm.
