Typhoon Bavi, the ninth storm of the year, made landfall in Yuhuan (Taizhou) on
the night of July 11 and in Yueqing (Wenzhou) in the early hours of July 12,
bringing severe winds and heavy rain across Zhejiang. The National Disaster
Reduction and Relief Committee launched a national level-4 emergency response on
July 12. Based on the national natural disaster relief emergency plan and
Zhejiang’s damage assessment, the NDRC has urgently allocated CNY100 mln of
central budget investment to support post-typhoon emergency restoration in
Zhejiang, prioritizing repair of damaged roads, water-conservancy infrastructure
and restoration of public-service facilities including schools and hospitals to
help restore normal production and daily life.
