On the 12th (local time), Iran announced a temporary closure of the Strait of Hormuz after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fired warning shots at a vessel. Iran cited shipping-tracking data showing just 11 commercial vessels transited the strait in the past 24 hours — eight tankers and three cargo ships. The IRGC said the closure, which it attributed to illegal foreign interference, will remain until further notice and that no vessels may transit until the US ends its intervention.
