At 18:30 on July 12 the Shanghai Flood Control Headquarters ended Level-III
flood/typhoon response for the central urban area, Minhang, Songjiang, Qingpu
and Jiading, and downgraded the response in Pudong, Jinshan, Fengxian, Baoshan
and Chongming from Level-III to Level-IV. The Shanghai Meteorological
Observatory at 18:30 downgraded the typhoon warning from yellow to blue. Typhoon
No.9 Bavi entered Hexian, Anhui at 18:00. Shanghai is forecast to see southerly
winds of 7–8 tonight into tomorrow, with gusts reaching 8–9 along river and
coastal areas and at high-rise elevations; authorities warned of adverse effects
on high-altitude work, transport and agricultural activity.
