Typhoon Bavi (this year’s No.9, tropical-storm intensity) had its center at
08:00 in Si County, Suzhou, Anhui. The Central Meteorological Observatory
forecasts Bavi will move north-northeast at 10–15 km/h, weaken gradually, cross
the Shandong Peninsula into the northern Yellow Sea on the 14th and transition
to an extratropical cyclone after the 15th. Under the Marine Disaster Emergency
Plan the National Marine Forecasting Center issued a storm-surge this morning
orange alert and a wave blue alert for China’s northern sea areas.
