Taiwan Economic Daily reports TSMC plans to raise wafer-foundry prices for
mature process nodes from January following earlier hikes on advanced nodes. IC
design firms said they will still seek more foundry capacity for next year than
they secured this year to support growth. Designers noted that rising
mature-node pricing in 1H—from OSATs and non‑TSMC foundries—has already pushed
up production costs and led to product price negotiations with clients; a TSMC
increase would prompt further client renegotiations and downstream costs
pass‑throughs.
