The Korea Exchange on Monday activated a market-wide circuit breaker after the KOSPI index fell more than 8% from the prior close, halting trading in KOSPI-listed stocks for 20 minutes. The trigger occurred around 12:28 Beijing time (13:28 Seoul time) as renewed US-Iran exchanges near the Strait of Hormuz prompted heavy selling pressure.
