China Meteorological Administration forecasts 5-6 typhoons will form in the
northwest Pacific and South China Sea during the late-July to early-August flood
season; 2-3 are expected to make landfall in or affect China. Active window is
late July to early August, with primary impacts on South China and East China
coastal areas. There is a possibility one relatively strong typhoon could bring
significant wind and rain to northern regions.
