An adviser to Iran's supreme leader said no Iranian supports abandoning the
Strait of Hormuz and vowed to defend it to avoid being forced to pay ransom to
enemies for passage of Iranian ships. He said the strait's strategic, security
and economic importance is irreplaceable and that Iran will not yield on the
issue.
