July 14 — Xiaomi disclosed progress for its humanoid robot in an automotive
plant. After four months of iteration, dual-sided operation at a self-tapping
nut placement station improved from 90.2% to 98%, about 1 percentage point below
the human pass rate. The team also began center-console side-cover sorting and
tote-box folding/recovery tasks, both achieving roughly 90% success. Xiaomi said
the center-console side-cover sorting station represents the first long-duration
continuous handling of flexible workpieces in an auto factory.
