Sources told Nikkei that despite ongoing memory-chip supply tightness, Huawei
plans to boost smartphone shipments by more than 20% to 60 mln units this year,
up from under 50 mln last year. Huawei has informed suppliers of the 60 mln
target. If confirmed, Huawei would be the only major Chinese smartphone maker
still targeting shipment growth in 2026; rivals Xiaomi, OPPO and Vivo have
trimmed output forecasts amid memory shortages and rising component costs.
