Kyodo, citing an insider, reported all Japanese crude carriers affected by Middle East tensions have transited the Strait of Hormuz and left the Persian Gulf; four vessels linked to Japan remain in the Gulf. The Japan Defense Ministry says Japan-related vessels include ships flying the Japanese flag and foreign-flagged vessels that carry Japanese nationals, are operated by Japanese shipping firms, or transport cargoes essential to Japan's economic activity.
