German carrier Hapag-Lloyd said on Tuesday charging fees on vessels transiting
international waters in the Strait of Hormuz is "fundamentally wrong." The
comment followed US President Trump saying he would reinstate a naval blockade
of Iran and impose a 20% fee on all cargo transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
Hapag-Lloyd said it could not accurately quantify the financial impact of
heightened Gulf tensions on its business.
