The European Commission on Tuesday approved €659 million (about $751 million) in German state aid to support construction of four semiconductor facilities, saying the projects will bolster EU competitiveness and strategic autonomy in chips. Executive Vice-President Teresa Ribera said the approval of German support for four new projects along the semiconductor value chain shows Europe is turning the EU Chips Act's ambition into concrete action.
