Shenyang when the rear motor assembly detached from the vehicle underside; the
unit remained connected by an orange high‑voltage harness and was dragged
through the water. BYD says the car experienced a severe chassis impact while wading in the water,
and external force caused the rear motor assembly to separate; the company
denies the unit detached during normal driving and says this is not a
product‑quality issue. BYD has not disclosed the vehicle’s model year, the exact
chassis damage location, or repair status.
