Since July, listed hog producers’ H1 2026 profit guidance shows the sector in
deep losses as hog prices remain depressed. Farming losses have reduced
downstream piglet restocking demand; piglet sales have become loss-making even
in the seasonal peak. Self-breeding and self-raising are expected to slowly
recover toward profitability in H2, but full-year results are likely to remain
in the red.
