Zeidon Alkinani, founding director of the Institute for Arab Perspectives, stated that since the US-Israel war against Iran, the Gulf states under attack are facing immense pressure to choose sides. He emphasized that although the GCC countries strongly opposed the US-Israel military action launched on February 28, they are still suffering the main impact of Iranian drone and missile attacks. Alkinani stated that the key now is to find an urgent solution to end the war as soon as possible and avoid the Gulf states being forced to choose sides. From a geopolitical and strategic perspective, Iran is clearly using this opportunity to seek military superiority in the region and demonstrate its ability to attack even its diplomatically-minded neighbors. Alkinani pointed out that the patience and stance of the Gulf states towards Iran may soon change.
