During Shanghai’s summer peak, State Grid Shanghai Electric coordinated 16 data centers — including China Telecom Shanghai, GDS, Shanghai Yidian and Alibaba Group — in a two‑hour all‑mode compute‑power dispatch that reduced peak load by up to 97.8 MW. The exercise is the largest single-city compute-load regulation in China to date and the first field test to simultaneously dispatch three paths: flexible load adjustment, backup diesel/generator switching and cross‑domain compute transfer.
