On the evening of the 15th, Iranian parliament speaker Ghalibaf said Iran does
not welcome war but must remain ready to fight to protect national security and
interests. He urged use of diplomacy and negotiations to secure and consolidate
those interests. Ghalibaf said memoranda of understanding are meaningful only
when all terms are effective and implemented; if Iran cannot benefit, it has no
obligation to comply. He added that, under the Supreme Leader's instructions,
everyone must prepare for war, diplomacy, or both.
