Hanmi Semiconductor is weighing construction of an eighth and largest production
facility, to be sited next to its seventh plant now under construction in
Incheon, after forecasting an AI-semiconductor equipment shortage from next
year. Chairman Guo Dongxin said equipment demand will exceed supply beginning
next year. The company expects rapid growth in demand for hot-press and hybrid
bonders as global chipmakers increase investment, and plans to open a U.S.
subsidiary in San Jose by end-2026 to strengthen technical support.
