China's Ministry of Education approved 27 new vocational-education programs—nine
higher-vocational (diploma) programs and 18 vocational bachelor
programs—covering 14 major categories and 20 subcategories. The new programs
will begin enrolling students in 2027. The additions are positioned to implement
the national 15th Five-Year Plan and the Education Development 15th Five-Year
Plan, support construction of a modern industrial system and higher-quality
service-sector development, and precisely align talent training with new
industries, new business models and new scenarios. Key targeted fields include
the digital economy, low-altitude economy, artificial intelligence, high-end
equipment, urban renewal and sectors facing urgent livelihood shortages.
