China’s National Healthcare Security Administration said the reporting window
for the 12th batch of national centralized volume-based drug procurement closes
on the afternoon of July 16. As of 12:00 on July 16, about 45,000 medical
institutions had submitted procurement demand covering 65 products and more than
530 pharmaceutical companies. Average bidders per product stood at 15; five
products had over 30 participating firms and the maximum was 54 for a single
product. NHSA asked remaining institutions to complete reporting and urged
pharmaceutical companies to prepare bids and price rationally based on cost and
market competition.
