President ZELENSKIY launched his fourth major government reshuffle since the
Russia-Ukraine war began and unexpectedly dismissed Defense Minister Mykhailo
Fedorov, who confirmed his removal on social media. Fedorov, a popular figure
and advocate of Ukrainian drone operations, said his team’s six-month
achievements included disrupting Russian use of Starlink, further isolating
Crimea and advancing an unpopular but critical military reform. The dismissal
has prompted calls for a peace protest in Kyiv on Thursday morning. The
reshuffle follows parliament’s approval of Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko’s
resignation; she had been in office about one year.
