China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN) said on July 16 it unveiled in Xining, Qinghai the world’s first 8.6m-aperture molten-salt trough solar thermal collector model, Yuanyao-1. CGN said the model delivers material gains in solar-to-electric conversion efficiency and end-to-end domestic controllability, providing core technology support for scaled deployment of China’s solar thermal power.
