At the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Summer Forum AI discussion held in Jeju on the 17th, Choi Tae-won, Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of SK Group, stated that as AI continues to develop, the demand for memory will continue to grow in the future. Therefore, investing in related stocks should be a long-term strategy, rather than frequent trading. Choi emphasized, "Memory will definitely continue to be used, and the demand for memory is currently growing exponentially; this is the current reality." Regarding the recent pullback in the stock prices of two companies, he believes this is a normal process of market expectations returning to reality. He said, "Stock prices do not fully reflect reality. When market expectations improve, stock prices rise rapidly; once the actual situation falls short of expectations, stock prices will fall sharply." He further explained, "A drop in stock prices often means that the previous rise was too rapid, and the market was overly optimistic; now it's just a return to realistic levels." Regarding investment strategies, Choi stated, "I cannot predict how stock prices will change next month, but compared to frequent trading, long-term stock holding is a better way to preserve wealth." When discussing South Korea's future AI development strategy, Choi believes that South Korea should not rely solely on exporting memory chips but should further export computing power and AI services overseas. He said, "In the future, our strategy will shift from exporting products to exporting intelligence."
