The Wall Street Journal reports a senior Amazon Web Services executive, Dave
Brown, plans to join Meta Platforms in the coming weeks to accelerate Meta's
data-center and cloud computing buildout. Brown, one of AWS's senior managers
with nearly 20 years of industry experience, will report to Meta's head of
infrastructure. CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said building a cloud business is
"absolutely under consideration" and that enterprises contact Meta "almost every
week" seeking access to its AI models or willing to pay to use idle compute.
