Chinese Academy of Sciences institutes unveiled Panshi scientific foundation
model 2.0 at the 2026 World AI Conference. Trained on about 8 mln high-quality
scientific reasoning records, the model is presented as a verifiable, traceable
research-reasoning system; multiple benchmark results show leading performance
in chemistry, biology and materials. It is paired with an integrated
research-intelligence platform aggregating more than 8,000 professionals
scientific tools and a domestically controlled heterogeneous compute stack
described as 'supercompute + smartcompute + fastcompute'. Early deployments in
astronomy, mechanics and chemistry report faster simulation, high-precision
celestial identification and intelligent new-materials design, and the platform
is serving dozens of domestic research institutions and companies.
