Wang Huning, a member of the CCP Politburo Standing Committee and chairman of
the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a Chinese
party‑state delegation to North Korea from July 15 to 17. He met with Kim Jong
Un, attended a reception marking the 65th anniversary of the China–North Korea
Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance, and held talks with Pak
Thae‑song, a Politburo standing committee member, vice chairman of the State
Affairs Commission and premier.
